ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure herein describes a pulling eye assembly for attachment to the terminal end of a communication fiber optic carrying cable which comprises an elongated body having one end attached to the cable and the other end equipped with an eye member adapted to be connected to a pulling device. A rupturable member is mounted within the body and will rupture to separate the eye member from the body when the tension exerted by the pulling device exceeds a predetermined value, this value being less than that required to damage the optical fibers in the cable. The elongated body further includes a swivel arrangement to prevent torsion in the cable as a result of the pulling action.
