ABSTRACT The vessel (1) containing the bales of waste paper or pulp is of a spiral shape with a flat bottom, with the rotor (2) located in the centre of the spiral. Impurities and foreign bodies are driven towards an Archimedes screw (3) located at the outlet from the spiral, which removes them to the exterior. In this final pass this is washed by spray nozzles to recover the carried- over pulp.
