Abstract A system for reheating a product having low thermal conductivity, for example a refrigerated previously cooked meal, is disclosed. A chamber receives the product and an air flow loop is connected through a heater, blower, input side of the chamber and output side of the chamber. A feedback loop which cuts off the chamber is also present and a damper is positioned in the feedback loop and arranged to operate cyclically causing air flow to block off cyclically from the chamber. The result is that pulses of air hotter than the desired reheat temperature are passed through the chamber, the pulses being spaced by intervals during which the temperature is below the desired re- heat level. The result is rapid reheating without overheating or recooking.
