ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a pulse burner of the type wherein an air- fuel mixture in a combustion chamber is explosively burnt by an ignition plug and resulting flame is detected by a flame detector to control the operation of the pulse burner, there is used a flame detector which detects electric current flowing in the flame instead of the thermostat secured to a side wall of the combustion chamber. With this improved flame detector, ignition miss can be quickly detected so that exhaust of not burned fuel can be prevented, thus improving operating efficiency.
