Abstract of the Disclosure A pulse curve analyser includes a transducer responsive to light modulated by changes in a patient's capillary blood circulation activity to produce a voltage waveform which is an analogue of the patient's body tissue pulsatile blood colour or density changes. The waveform is processed to produce an output signal proportional to the time rate of change of the amplitude of the waveform. The rise time or fall time representative of a transient cycle of the waveform as a function of the period of the cycle is displayed quantitatively and instantaneously. The invention enables differently shaped analogue pulse curves to be distinguished from one another thereby providing additional information regarding the patient's condition.
