ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pulse width modulating circuit is disclosed in which input clock pulses are counted by first and. second counters at a constant speed. In this case, the number of the pulses applied to the second counter is increased or decreased by a modulating pulse relative to the number of the pulses applied to the first counter to change the counting phase of the second counter, then the phase difference between the first and second counters is detected and a pulse width modulated pulse having a pulse width corresponding to the detected phase difference is provided.
