A high energy filament lamp light source such as a quartz tungsten halogen lamp (100) operated in a pulsed mode with a high voltage input, creates a particular energy output. Applications of such apparatus and methods include treatment of the dermis, and/or sub-epidermal tissues for the purpose of skin recontouring, thermal destruction of hair follicles for the purpose of hair removal, and an optional method which selectively preheats a subsurface region in targeted tissue to sub-thermal modification threshold values without significant heat damage to surrounding layers prior to further treatment.
L'invention concerne une source de lumière constituée d'une lampe à incandescence haute énergie, telle qu'une lampe halogène à quartz (100) fonctionnant sur un mode pulsé, alimentée par une haute tension et produisant une énergie particulière. Les applications dudit dispositif et les méthodes correspondantes sont représentées par le traitement du derme et/ou des tissus sous-épidermiques à des fins de remodelage de la peau, par la destruction thermique des follicules pileux à des fins d'épilation et, éventuellement, par une méthode consistant à préchauffer sélectivement une certaine zone d'un tissu ciblé, de façon à l'amener à des valeurs seuils de température inférieures à la température de traitement sans provoquer de lésions thermiques significatives des couches environnantes, avant d'y appliquer un autre traitement.
