A closure assembly comprising thin walled fiberglass pultrusions having complimentary butting and engaging portions and the pultrusions being of sufficient thickness in use to crack and break if not reinforced when fastening hardware thereto, or when fastening pultrusions to adjacent pultrusions, and therefore requiring reinforcement, each pultrusion being reinforced by reinforcement portions including complimentary butting and engaging portions engaging the complimentary butting and engaging portions of the pultrusions, when the pultrusions are joined to adjacent pultrusion, mounted within an opening for the closure assembly or when hardware is mounted to the pultrusions, the complimentary butting and engaging portions of the reinforced portions being compatible in shape with the pultrusion and the complimentary butting and engaging portions thereof to provide the necessary reinforcing of the closure assembly, while reinforcing the framing sections in use from cracking and breaking as the fastening devices are fastened to the discrete reinforcing means, the discrete reinforcing means passing any fastening forces tending to locally crack or break the pultrusion adjacent a point of fastening to the reinforcing portions and to a substantially greater cross sectional area than the immediate surrounding surface of the pultrusion proximate the point of fastening.
