A pump assembly for storing and discharging a liq- uid such as a chemical solution includes a substantially cylindrical container for storing the liquid therein, a pump mounted on one end of the container and having a suction port for drawing the liquid from the container and an outlet port for discharging the liquid, and a gasket slidably inserted in the opposite end of the container in contact with the liquid stored in the container, for sealing the liquid in the container, the gasket being slidable toward the pump when the liquid stored in the container is reduced by the pump. A slanted portion is disposed in said one end of the container and has a slanted surface extending contin- uously from an inner peripheral surface of the container and converying away from the gasket. The suction port of the pump communicates with the interior space of the container substantially at a converging end of the slanted surface. Any trapped air is collected between the slanted surface and the liquid contained in the container, and can be discharged from the container by the pump before the liquid is dis- charged from the container by the pump.

Il comprend un contenant essentiellement cylindrique utilisé pour y emmagasiner le liquide; une pompe installée sur une extrémité du contenant et possédant un orifice d'aspiration pour tirer le liquide du contenant et un orifice de sortie pour refouler le liquide, ainsi qu'un joint d'étanchéité inséré de manière à coulisser dans l'extrémité opposée du contenant en contact avec le liquide emmagasiné, pour y sceller le liquide. Le joint d'étanchéité peut coulisser vers la pompe lorsque le liquide emmagasiné dans le contenant est abaissé par la pompe. Une partie inclinée se trouve dans l'extrémité susmentionnée du contenant et elle comporte une surface inclinée qui s'étend de manière continue à partir d'une surface périphérique du contenant et qui s'éloigne du joint d'étanchéité. L'orifice d'aspiration de la pompe communique avec l'espace intérieur du contenant essentiellement à l'extrémité convergente de la surface inclinée. L'air emprisonné est capté entre la surface inclinée et le liquide présent dans le contenant et il peut être évacué de ce dernier par la pompe avant que le liquide soit évacué du contenant par la pompe.
