There is disclosed a soap dispenser suitable for use in small bathrooms which includes a bearing base and a tubular member. These two components may be locked together with the latter mounted against a mounting surface. A tubular pump is provided having an actuating rod, which is designed as a liquid soap conduit and which can be adjusted between an upper and lower height settings. A faucet member is provided and in order to protect both the actuating rod and the annular gap located between the latter and the base, and in order to reroute the flow of the sucked-in pressure equalization air, the soap dispensing faucet member is provided with, in the region above base, a cap that fits over the upper part of the base and forms, together with upper part in all stroke positions, an annular gap that is arranged concentrically relative to the annular gap through which actuating rod of pump extends. The soap dispensing faucet member is, in this arrangement, fitted in the region above base with an annular recess which opens toward base, whereby the upper edge of the base extends, when the actuating rod is in the upper position, essentially along the same plane as the lower edge of faucet member and whereby furthermore the external diameter of base is, at least over a length corresponding to the stroke height of actuating rod, slightly smaller than the diameter of annular recess.
