A pump system is proposed for the ink supply tank of a franking and value-stamping machine, this consisting of two ink tanks that can be set one inside the other, with a guide tube that connects the two tanks. A threaded spindle, driven by an electric motor, serves as a pump, said threaded spindle being supported within the guide tube.
