PUMPJACK EPICYCLIC DRIVE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention is directed to a pumpjack drive, and in particular to a pumpjack drive incorporating an epicyclic speed reducer which provides a simple mechanical means of reducing the operating speed of an oil well pumpjack,and is capable of resisting periodic torque reversals. A pumpjack includes a belt driven sheave. The epicyclic drive includes a motor and an epicyclic speed reducer, which includes an input shaft drawing power from the motor shaft, two geared members which rotate eccentrically relative to each other, and an output shaft delivering power at a speed slower than the speed of the motor shaft. A driving sheave is rotated by output shaft, which in turn drives the belts for driving the driven sheave of the pumpjack.
