ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A punch press has a C-shaped frame in which upper and lower punching tools are held in vertical alignment with each other to perform a variety of accurate punching operations in spite of any deflections or vibrations of the frame. The workpiece will also be subject to fewer vibrations. A workpiece feeding and positioning means is also mounted on the C-shaped tool holding means for holding the upper and lower punching tools.
