ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A compound such as 1-(alkylamino)alkyl-2-keto-1,4-diazacycloalkanes having the formula Image are useful UV stabilizers and can be prepared by using an excess of base in forming the cyclized product which is then worked up forming a crude product without water or water immiscible solvent. The crude product is purified by distillation without decomposition of the desired compound during distillation.
