PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne un procédé de purification du mercaptobenzothiazole brut de synthèse. Ce procédé qui consiste à traiter le produit brut par de l'aniline pour le cristalliser, à filtrer et laver par de l'aniline le mercaptobenzothiazole cristallisé et à recycler le cas échéant les phases organiques liquides du milieu de purifi- cation, est caractérisé en ce que la cristallisation du mercaptobenzothiazole, sa filtration et son lavage sont effectués à une température comprise entre 40 et 120°C.
