A method for purifying a desired heterologous polypeptide from microbial fermentation broth or homogenate in which it is produced and solubilized is described. This method involves adding to the broth or homogenate an effective amount of a solution of 6,9-diamino-2-ethoxyacridine lactate (ethacridine lactate) to precipitate host cell impurities under conditions wherein the majority of polypeptide remains soluble, and separating the desired polypeptide from the broth or homogenate. The broth or homogenate containing the ethacridine lactate and polypeptide is also disclosed.

L'invention concerne un procédé de purification d'un polypeptide hétérologue voulu, issu d'un bouillon de fermentation microbienne ou d'un homogénat dans lequel il est produit et solubilisé. Le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à : ajouter au bouillon ou à l'homogénat une quantité efficace d'une solution de lactate de 6,9-diamino-2-éthoxyacridine (lactate d'éthacridine) pour précipiter les impuretés des cellules hôtes, dans des conditions permettant à la majeure partie du polypeptide de rester soluble ; et séparer le polypeptide voulu du bouillon ou de l'homogénat. L'invention se rapporte aussi au bouillon ou à l'homogénat contenant le lactate d'éthacridine et le polypeptide.
