"PURIFICATION PROCESS FOR BITUMEN FROTH" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Bitumen froth is treated in a circuit comprising a plurality of serially connected mixer and inclined plate settler units. A light hydrocarbon diluent moves countercurrently through the circuit. Thus, as the bitumen content of the stream being settled diminishes, the concentration of diluent in that stream increases.
