The invention relates to a gas purifier that comprises a photocatalytic-action filtration medium, a system for the UV-lighting of said medium, a retarder means or an analyser of a volatile organic compound, a means for automatically adjusting the speed of the gas flowing therethrough or for adjusting the intensity of the UV-lighting, said adjustment being made based on the time determined by the retarder means or based on the content of the volatile organic compound analysed by the analyser. The invention also relates to a method for purifying a gas using a purifier that comprises a photocatalytic-action filtration medium and a system for the UV-lighting of said medium, according to which, when the concentration of a compound in the gas is higher than a value V1, the operation mode of the purifier is lower than the mode thereof when the concentration of the compound in the gas is lower than a value V2, V2 being lower than or equal to V1. The invention also relates to a method for purifying a gas using a purifier that comprises photocatalytic-action filtration medium, a system for the UV-lighting of said medium, and a retarder means for controlling the mode of the purifier.
L'invention concerne un épurateur de gaz comprenant un média filtrant à action photocatalytique, un système d'illumination par UV dudit média, un moyen de temporisation ou un analyseur de composé organo volatil, un moyen de réglage automatique de la vitesse du gaz le traversant ou de réglage de l'intensité de l'illumination UV, ledit réglage étant réalisé en fonction du temps déterminé par le moyen de temporisation ou en fonction de la teneur en un composé organo volatil analysé par I' analyseur. L'invention concerne également un procédé de purification de gaz à l'aide d'un épurateur comprenant un média filtrant à action photocatalytique et un système d'illumination par UV dudit média, selon lequel lorsque la concentration en un composé dans le gaz est supérieure à une valeur V1, le régime de fonctionnement de l'épurateur est inférieur à son régime lorsque la concentration en le composé dans le gaz est inférieure à une valeur V2, V2 étant inférieur ou égal à V1. L'invention concerne également un procédé de purification de gaz à l'aide d'un épurateur comprenant un média filtrant à action photocatalytique, un système d'illumination par UV dudit média, et un moyen de temporisation commandant le régime de l'épurateur.
