16 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bistable push-button device for controlling electrical apparatus is disclosed wherein a push-button body is slid ably movable within a push-button housing and in response to manual actuation of position-determining means is forced past and restrained by a restraining means in order to provide two independent stable positions on the push-button device. One embodiment of the invention combines the bistable positions with a momentary third position on a push-button device.
