The invention provides a compound of the formula: Image wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl, C1-6alkyl, C1-6alkoxy and NR5R6; R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen and C1-6alkyl; R3 and R5 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C1-6alkyl; R4 is C1-4alkyl; R6 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-6alkyl and C(=O)C1-4alkyl; X and Y are nitrogen or carbon, but X and Y cannot be the same; the dashed bonds (----) denote a suitably appointed double bond and single bond; and when Y is nitrogen, the dashed bonds can both be single bonds; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof. The compound of the invention, and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof may be used for one or both of lowering and controlling normal or elevated intraocular pressure or for treating glaucoma.
