This invention relates to novel pyrazolo-[5, 1-C] (1, 2, 4) and (1, 3, 4)-triazoles having an acyloxy group in the 7-position and to a method for their formation. The method utilizes the corresponding 7-acyl compounds as starting materials. These compounds can be made from the corresponding 1,7-diacyl compounds. The 1,7-diacyl compounds utilized can be prepared by a new method for diacylation of pyrazolotriazoles, where the acetylation is acid catalyzed. The compounds produced are used as dye couplers.
