ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pyridine derivative of formula Image (I) wherein Image , R1 and R2 are each specific groups, or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof is a novel compound which has an excellent pharmacological activity for increasing acetylcholine level in the brain without adverse side effects. Accordingly, those compounds are useful for the treat- ment of dementia of Alzheimer's type.
