ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pyridyloxybenzanilide derivative represented by the formula: Image where X is a bromine atom, Y is a halogen atom, a trifluoro- methyl group, a trifluoromethoxy group, a lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxy group, and n is an integer of from 1 to 3. The compound is useful as a herbicide primarily for the in- hibition of growth and germination of weeds.
