The present invention is directed to a pyrimidine derivative of the formula (1) or a salt thereof; (see formula 1) having an inhibitory activity for production of Th2 type cytokines such as IL-4, IL-5, etc. It is useful as therapeutic agent for allergic diseases, autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythemathosus, etc., and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

L'invention concerne des dérivés de pyrimidine, ou leurs sels, représentés par la formule générale (1), lesquels dérivés présentent une activité inhibitrice contre la production des cytokines du type Th 2 telles que IL-4 et IL-5. Ils sont donc utiles comme remèdes contre les allergies, les maladies auto-immunes telles que le lupus érythémateux systématique, le syndrome de l'immunodéficience acquise, etc.
