Abstract of the Disclosure This invention comprises new compounds as well as a composition and method for influencing, in particular for inhibiting plant growth, which composition contains as active ingredient a quaternary pyrrolidinium acetic acid ailide of the formula Image wherein X ? represents the anion of any non-phytotoxic acid. Methods for manufacturing the bromide of this compound are described and ist use for inhibiting the growth of plants, in particular ornamentals.
