A system and method for maintaining an uninterrupted data flow in a communications network includes a transmitter (10), which transmits the data flow from a data source and a receiver (15), which receives the data flow. A channel (14) interconnects the transmitter (10) and the receiver (15); and communicates the dataflow between the transmitter (10) and the receiver (15). A switch (48) is located in the channel (14) between the transmitter (10) and the receiver (15). The switch (48) is openable for a period of time, which is sufficient to permit analysis of signal impairment in the channel (14) without interrupting the data flow.

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant de maintenir un flux de données ininterrompu dans un réseau de communication. Ce système comprend un émetteur (10) émettant le flux de données à partir d'une source de données, et un récepteur (15) recevant ledit flux de données. Un canal (14) interconnecte l'émetteur (10) et le récepteur (15), et communique le flux de données entre l'émetteur (10) et le récepteur (15). Un commutateur (48) est disposé dans le canal (14), entre l'émetteur (10) et le récepteur (15).
