ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE : Quadrature signal generation circuit A quadrature signal generation circuit (QGM) is proposed that allows to directly control the phase shift between an in-phase (IS) and quadrature-phase (QS) carrier signal derived from a master carrier signal (CS) having a desired carrier frequency. The circuit (QGM) derives first and second signals which are roughly orthogonal through an untuned RC- and CR- filter respectively (IRC, RCQ) and then derives the mentioned carrier signals (IS, QS) by cross-wise adding to these first and second amplified signals, the output signals of the above filters. The orthogonality of the above carrier signals may then be controlled via a phase adjust signal (PAS) which modifies the sign and the amplitude with which the above mentioned output signals are added to the amplified signals.
