This invention provides a method for examining the geometry of the disposition of a plurality of sources (18-24) and receivers (10-16) over an area to be surveyed with a view to optimizing the array to avoid data shadow zones and to optimize the resulting seismic image. The method depends upon studying the statistical distribution of dip polarity in dip bins along selected CMP azimuths.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'analyse de la géométrie d'une pluralité de sources (18-24) et de récepteurs (10-16) sur une zone à étudier en vue d'optimiser le dispositif, d'empêcher les zones d'ombre de données et d'optimiser l'image sismique résultante. Le procédé selon l'invention est basé sur l'étude de la répartition statistique de la polarité de pendage dans des ensembles de valeurs de pendage le long d'azimuts à centre commun.
