The present invention pertains to methods and compositions for quantifying the levels of at least one biomolecular analyte in a sample or extract by mass spectrometry using at least one dendrimer internal standard, as shown in Figure 1. Examples of suitable dendrimer standards are poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG dendrimer and poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimer. In one embodiment a labile internal standard sensitive to heat or protease is used together with the dendrimer standard.

L'invention concerne des procédés de quantification des niveaux d'au moins un analyte dans un échantillon ou un extrait qui consiste à ajouter une quantité connue d'au moins un standard interne à l'échantillon ou à l'extrait. Cette invention concerne également des standards internes utilisés en spectrométrie de masse, ainsi que des compositions de ceux-ci. Les standards internes destinés à la spectrométrie de masse de l'invention peuvent être utilisés, par exemple, en vue d'assister l'alignement des spectres de masse obtenu à partir de deux échantillons différents, chacun desquels comprenant le standard interne. Dans l'un des aspects de l'invention, le standard interne consiste en un dendrimère. Un standard interne labile peut être utilisé en conjugaison avec le dendrimère.
