A method for quantitatively monitoring gas phase materials in a chemical process is provided and includes, providing a gaseous feed stream containing one or more reactant gases of interest; exposing the gaseous feed stream to coherent radiation from a Raman spectroscopic device; acquiring a Raman spectroscopic signal from each of the gaseous components in the feed stream; analyzing the spectroscopic signal to determine the presence and concentration of each of the gaseous components; and displaying the results of the analysis. In one embodiment, the method is useful for quantitatively monitoring gas phase materials in a process for making high purity silicon.

L'invention concerne un procédé de contrôle quantitatif de substances en phase gazeuse utilisées lors d'un processus chimique, comprenant les étapes suivantes : obtention d'un courant gazeux d'alimentation contenant un ou plusieurs gaz réactifs d'intérêt ; exposition du courant gazeux d'alimentation à un rayonnement cohérent provenant d'un dispositif spectroscopique Raman ; acquisition d'un signal spectroscopique Raman provenant de chaque composant gazeux se trouvant dans le courant d'alimentation ; analyse du signal spectroscopique pour déterminer la présence et la concentration de chaque composant gazeux ; et affichage des résultats de l'analyse. Dans un mode de réalisation, le procédé est utile pour le contrôle quantitatif des substances en phase gazeuse utilisées lors d'un processus de préparation de silicium très pur.
