Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention relates to water-soluble quaternary ammonium salts of organic compounds having antistatic or softening properties. These ammonium salts contain at least one fatty acid radical and are quater- nised with a dialkyl ester of an alkylphosphonic acid. They are used for finishing organic fibrous material, especially textiles and paper.
