Abstract of The Disclosure QUATERNARY BRASS ALLOY COATED STEEL ELEMENT AND RUBBER REINFORCED THEREWITH This invention relates to a steel element useful for the reinforcement of rubber articles in which the steel element is provided with coating of quaternary brass alloy composed of copper, zinc and a minor amount of nickel and cobalt. The alloy-coated steel element can be useful as a wire for the reinforcement of rubber articles such as vehicle tires, and industrial products such as power transmission belts, conveyor belts, hoses, and the like.
