The invention relates to a quick-action clamping device for fastening printing plates in printing machines comprising a fixedly arranged upper clamping bar (1) and a displaceable lower clamping bar (2). Tn order to obtain a defined clamping force and a set-up permitting automation said lower clamping bar (2) is pressed into a clamping position by means of spring elements (3) having a holding force necessary to hold printing plates (11) and brought into a plate-changing position by means of at least one re-set element (4, 4', 4 ") acting against said holding farce.
