ABSTRACT Subject of the invention is a quick-action valve, opened and closed by a quarter turn, assisting the safe tensioning with high mechanical transmission upon closing, while it removes the valve case completely from the path of the flow upon opening. The valve body is fixed to the valve arm, turning as a flap around the shaft. The valve consists of an auxiliary shaft around which the actuating arm and the roller fixed to it are turnable. The roller moves the valve arm, or the axially connected auxiliary arm, so that upon closing it rolls tangentially on the running surface, thus bringing about maximum force transmission. A few degrees after the dead centre, turn of the actuating arm is limited by an arrester, and self-holding closing takes place in this position. In a preferable version the roller runs in the groove on the valve arm or auxiliary arm, thus it moves the valve body the same way upon opening and closing, and with the aid of an elastic arresting element the same tensioning and the same self-holding will occur through the arrester after the dead centre in the fully open position as in closed position.
