A window assembly 102 for a public transportation vehicle 100 that permits rapid removal and replacement is disclosed. The vehicle 100 has a sidewall 106 with a window opening 104. One or more frame members 112 are attached within the window opening 104. The frame members 112 are adapted to comprise one or more apertures 222. One or more retainers 200 are adhesively attached to the inner surface and towards the outer periphery of a piece of glazing 110. The retainers 200 have protrusions 232 that can extend through the apertures 222 in the frame members 112 and engage therewith when the piece of glazing 110 is positioned adjacent to the window opening 104. Removable fasteners 220 can be attached to the protrusions 232 so as to detachably secure the piece of glazing 110 and the retainers 200 to the frame members 112. This allows easy removal and replacement of the piece of glazing 110 from the window opening 104 of the sidewall 106 of the vehicle 100.

Ces éléments 200 ont des protubérances 232 qui peuvent s'étendre à travers les ouvertures 222 dans les éléments de cadre 112 en imbrication avec eux lorsque la pièce de vitrage 110 est en position adjacente à l'espace pour fenêtre 104. Des fixations amovibles 220 peuvent être fixées aux protubérances 232 pour la fixation amovible de la pièce de vitrage 110 et des éléments de retenue 200 aux éléments de cadre 112. On peut ainsi démonter et remplacer facilement la pièce de vitrage 110 dans l'espace pour fenêtre 104 de la paroi latérale 106 du véhicule 100.
