Quick-disconnect couplings for three-piece rotors in a two-rotor continuous mixer for plastic materials enable a main rotor section (or "main rotor body") of each rotor to be uncoupled from a drive journal located at one end of the main rotor section and a driven journal located at the other end of the main rotor section. These quick-disconnect couplings as shown provide the following features: (a) piloted to maintain concentricity, (b) keyed to transmit torque, (c) enable quick assembly and disassembly of three-piece rotors, (d) maintain integrity of couplings bolted onto respective ends of each rotor section, (e) thus, a complete functional main rotor body is assembled with its quick-disconnect couplings (140, 141), at each end, (f) the disengageable interface between each coupling and each journal is supplied with both pilot and key, (g) concentricity and torque capabilities are built into the quick-disconnect coupling assemblies, (h) threaded locking collars captive on the journals serve to lock the disengageable interfaces together, (i) interface joints are pre-loaded by tightening the locking collars using spanner wrenches, (j) threaded locking collars do not become jammed, because torque is carried by keyed engagement at each interface, and (k) for disassembly the locking collars are backed off and main rotor bodies together with their couplings by separation at the piloted and keyed interfaces.
Raccords à dégagement rapide pour rotors en trois segments pour mélangeur continu à deux rotors utilisé pour mélanger des matières plastiques; les raccords à dégagement rapide permettent de dégager rapidement le segment principal de chaque rotor d'une fusée d'entraînement et d'un tourillon mené situés aux deux extrémités de chaque segment principal. Ces raccords à dégagement rapide présentent les caractéristiques suivantes : a) concentricité assurée par taraudage, b) transmission du couple par clavetage, c) assemblage et désassemblage rapide des trois segments du rotor, d) intégrité mécanique par boulonnage des raccords aux deux extrémités de chaque segment, e) assemblage complet d'un rotor fonctionnel par l'utilisation d'un raccord à chaque extrémité du rotor (140 et 141), f) interface démontable entre chaque raccord et chaque tourillon à l'aide d'un pilote et d'une clé, g) concentricité et capacité de couple intégrées aux raccords à dégagement rapide, h) colliers de verrouillage filetés prisonniers des tourillons, i) joints d'interface tarés à l'aide de clés à ergots, j) colliers de verrouillage filetés à l'épreuve des blocages par clavetage de chaque interface, et k) pour le désassemblage, les colliers de verrouillage peuvent être dégagés avec leurs segments et raccords par séparation des interfaces pilote et clé.
