QUICK RELEASE SEAL RETAINER Abstract A quick release seal retainer adapted for con- necting a seal segment to a base has a clamp member positioned within a slot formed between a projection of a mounting block and the base. A pair of studs slid- ably extending through a pair of bores in the pro- jection have one end connected to the clamp member and the other end connected to a bar. In one embodiment a cam clamp mechanism is connected to the mounting block for locking the bar and hence the clamp member at a position at which the seal segment is clamped against the base. In another embodiment an over-center toggle link means locks the bar and hence the clamp member at a position at which the seal segment is clamped against the base. Both the cam clamp mechanism and the toggle link means can be easily actuated to one position to release an old seal segment and to another position to lock the new seal segment in place even when the base is at an elevated operating temperature.
