ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A clamp is provided for detachably securing a toilet seat to a toilet bowl. A threaded post is securely bolted into each of the holes in the flange portion of the rear of the upper part of the bowl so that the top portion of the post extends out beyond the upper part of the bowl. This top portion is for example in the nature of a spherical projection. Fasteners, each having a socket for mateably receiving one of these projections and securing it therein against unpur- poseful disengagement, are associated with the toilet seat, and may rotatably engage the hinge shaft found to the rear of many types of toilet seats. By pulling up on the rear of the toilet seat or the fasteners, the fasteners and the projec- tions are disengaged, thereby detaching the toilet seat from its position on the top part of the bowl. This device, by permitting such easy disengagement of the toilet seat, facilitates cleaning and hygiene.
