ABSTRACT A mold for forming a gasket-receiving groove in concrete pipes or the like is described. The mold, which is relatively easy and inexpensive to produce and comparably simple to use comprises a one-piece annular body with a smooth inner surface which is provided with a circumferential channel. The depth of the channel is less than the radial thickness of the body. Within the channel a resilient split ring is slidably disposed. The resiliency of the ring urges the ring to expand radially outwardly towards the bottom of the channel into its expanded position. Releasable pressure means are provided for urging the split ring radially in- wardly into a groove-forming position. Release of the pressure means allows the split ring to return to the ex- panded position.
