An apparatus for cutting a quilted material web (20) having a quilted patterns (32,34) thereon into panels (24,26) having a desired length and width with respective quilted patterns centered therein. A first detector (182) detects a center of a quilted pattern on the quilted material web; and in response thereto, a cutting apparatus (120,150,152) cuts the quilted material web to form edges (36,38,40,42) of a panel equidistant from the quilted pattern center. The cutting apparatus includes a pair of trim blades (150,152) that cut opposite side edges of the panel equidistant from the quilted pattern center and a cross cutting apparatus (120) that cuts end edges of the panel equidistant from the quilted pattern center.
L'invention concerne un appareil qui permet de couper une bande de matériau matelassé (20) comportant des motifs de matelassage (32, 34) en panneaux (24, 26) d'une longueur et d'une largeur désirées présentant des motifs de matelassage respectifs centrés. Selon l'invention, un premier détecteur (182) détecte un centre d'un motif de matelassage sur la bande de matériau matelassé; et en réponse, un appareil de coupe (120,150,152) coupe la bande de matériau matelassé pour former des bords (36,38,40,42) de panneau équidistants du centre du motif matelassé. L'appareil de coupe de l'invention comprend une paire de lames de coupe (150, 152) qui coupent les bords latéraux opposés du panneau à une même distance du centre du motif de matelassage, et un appareil de coupe transversale (120) qui coupe les bords d'extrémité du panneau à une même distance du centre du motif de matelassage.
