Quinoline sulfide derivatives represented by formula (I), (wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C6 alkoxy, a C1-C6 alkylthio, or a di(C1-C6-alkyl)amino; R2 and R3 represent each a hydrogen atom or a C1-C6 alkyl; any one of R4 and R5 represents a hydroxyl group with the other representing a hydrogen atom, or alternatively CR4R5 may represent a carbonyl group; m is an integer of 1 or 2; and n is an integer of 0 or 1) prepared by reacting a quinoline-4(1H)-thione derivative with a halogen compound, and having a selective antimicrobial activity against Hp.
