1-Cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-8-methoxy-5-methyl-7-(3,5- dimethyl-1-piperazinyl)-1,4-dihydro-4-oxoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid and salts thereof, processes for preparing them, and a pharmaceutical composition containing them. The compound of this invention and salts thereof have very good properties as a quinolone antibacterial agent and therefore are useful for prophylaxis and treatment of bacterial infections in warm-blooded animals as an antibacterial agent.
