Between a handle portion (10) and a batting portion 116) a relative rotational movement around the longi- tudinal axis (38) is possible. For this purpose a torsion-spring-element is incorporated in the handle (26) which effects a damping when the ball hits the string (14) or the frame (12) beside the longitudinal axis (38). By the damping of the torsion movement an overload of the area of the forearm and of the elbow joint of the player is substantially avoided. (Figure 1)
