24 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A shock absorbing racket handle assembly for use with a wide variety of rackets. The assembly includes a specially formed racket shaft attached to the head and a grip whose interior is similarly shaped so that an engineered space is defined therebetween. Damping means is used within that engineered space and tensioning means is used to hold the assembly together and to appropriately determine a particular player's choice of shock adsorption and feel or hitting characteristics for the racket.
