Abstract of the Disclosure: The tension frame of conventional racquets produced according to the single or double tube process are hollow on the inside or filled with a light foam. In terms of sufficient rigidity, such racquets must have a minimum width in order to be able to withstand playing action. The novel racquet is to be produced such that the frame width can be further reduced. The frame height of the novel racquet transversely to the plane in which the strings are disposed is greater than the frame width in the plane of the strings. The cross section of the frame is solid in its center section and has, formed in its narrow vertically opposite ends, a channel-like hollow space each. It is thus possible to even further reduce the frame width, for example in order to achieve a more slender construction and better aerodynamic properties.
