Abstract of the Disclosure A novel protector strip wound around the frame of a sports racquet is provided. The strip is passed between the strings of the racquet with each convolution, and is held in position by virtue of a set shape towards which a resilient memory type, characteristic of the material of manufacture, maintains its shape and form. The set shape is of a tubular helix, and is self anchoring to the racquet frame once installed.
