ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a radar apparatus which is provided with a function of adjusting time instants in a distance axis to receive and display echo signals, when the apparatus is installed or the like. A radar apparatus according to the present invention radiates search signals successively in different directions, receives echo signals and displays the signals so that surrounding conditions in a wide range of directions are displayed. The radar apparatus comprises a buffer memory (8, 111) for temporarily storing echo signals resulting from one search signal, a memory (10, 112) for storing at corresponding memory elelments echo signals supplied from the buffer memory and corresponding to one scan, timing adjusting amount setting means (24, 117) for determining a timing adjusting amount in a distance direction, and control means (2, 26, 118) for causing the buffer memory (8, 111) or the memory (10, 112) to write received echo signals thereinto based on the determined timing adjusting amount. -34-
