Radar apparatus comprising a phased array antenna (1) provided with a large number of transmit and receive modules (2), a control unit (3) and a video processor (4). Per azimuth-elevation direction, the control unit (3) generates a number of pulse bursts, all of which show slight carrier frequency differences. Per pulse burst, the video processor (4) determines a doppler spectrum and compares successive spectra. As a result of the frequency differences, clutter will hardly undergo a shift, whereas targets subject to fold-back in the frequency domain will show a considerable shift. A threshold based on a mean spectrum therefor enables detect ion.

Radar comprenant une antenne réseau à commande de phase (1) pourvue d'un grand nombre de modules émetteurs et récepterus (2), une unité de commande (3) et un processeur vidéo (4). Pour chaque direction d'azimut-élévation, l'unité de commande génère un certain nombre de salves d'impulsions, dont chacune présente de légères différences de fréquence porteuse. Pour chaque salve d'impulsions, le processeur vidéo (4) détermine un spectre Doppler et compare les spectres successifs. En raison des différences de fréquence, les échos parasites ne subiront pratiquement pas de décalage, tandis que les cibles sujettes à un repli dans le domaine de fréquence subiront un décalage considérable. Un seuil fondé sur un spectre moyen permet ainsi d'effectuer la détection.
