ABSTRACT An articulated truck, including suitable wheel axle assemblies, is provided to join and support two adjacent railway cars. A force steering system is included to force the truck to take a radial position with respect to curves in a track. This minimizes the high angle of attack between the lead outer wheel and the rail when curves in the track are encountered. The forced steering system may comprise a linkage connected between one of the cars and the bolster of the adjacent truck, the linkage being arranged to maintain the bolster radial with respect to the track. Alternatively two pairs of springs interconnecting the ends of the adjacent cars with the bolster may be used as the forced steering system.
