Radial impulse engine, pump, and compressor systems are disclosed herein. In one embodiment of the invention, an engine includes a first end wall portion to at least partially define a combustion chamber (203) therebetween. In this embodiment, the engine further includes a plurality of movable wall portions (240) disposed between the first and second end wall portions. Each movable wall portion includes a cylindrical surface extending at least partially between a distal edge portion and a pivot axis. Upon ignition in the combustion chamber, the distal edge portion of each movable wall portion slides across the cylindrical surface of the adjacent movable wall portion as the movable wall portions pivot outwardly in unison about their respective pivot axes.
L'invention concerne des systèmes de moteur à impulsion radiale, pompe et compresseur. Dans un mode de réalisation, le moteur comprend une première paroi d'extrémité séparée d'une seconde paroi d'extrémité, définissant au moins partiellement une chambre de combustion entre celles-ci. Dans ce mode de réalisation, le moteur comprend également une pluralité de parois amovibles disposées entre la première paroi d'extrémité et la seconde paroi d'extrémité. Chaque paroi amovible présente une surface cylindrique s'étendant au moins partiellement entre une partie périphérique distale et un axe de pivotement. Suite à l'allumage dans la chambre de combustion, la partie périphérique distale de chaque paroi amovible glisse sur la surface cylindrique de la paroi amovible adjacente, tandis que les parois amovibles pivotent ensemble vers l'extérieur autour de leurs axes de pivotement respectifs.
